Geology Manager, Boss Resources
Ms Asha Rao, Geology Manager, Boss Resources Ltd, is a geologist with more than 14 years’ experience in the minerals industry. Her geological experience ranges from early-stage, ‘grass-roots’ exploration through to ‘brownfields’, pre-production work, and has a proven technical ability to identify new exploration targets. Miss Rao is a Member of the Australian Institute for Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) and Australasian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG). She was part of the team responsible for the 30% increase in Mineral Resources at Honeymoon and was responsible for introducing new, low-cost geophysical surveying methods for cost-effective, large-scale, grass-roots exploration target generation to the Honeymoon Project.
Keynote Presentation: Exploration update for the Honeymoon Uranium Project – the introduction of innovative survey techniques to enhance more than 40 years of exploration
Since acquisition of the Honeymoon Uranium Project in 2015, Boss Resources has combined more than 40 years of exploration data with knowledge gained from the more recent Field Leach Trials (2017), doubled the original Global Mineral Resource (2019), updated the Exploration Target (2019) and introduced low-cost, non-invasive geophysical survey techniques to more accurately map palaeovalley and palaeochannel systems. The surveys successfully mapped narrow palaeochannels within the broader Yarramba Palaeovalley, confirming current exploration models and highlighting prospective drill targets, proving that effective exploration can be completed with alternative and innovative techniques at a fraction of the cost of conventional geophysical methods.
