Patrick Gibbons is currently Principal Adviser – Energy at the Minerals Council of Australia.
The MCA is the leading advocate for Australia’s world class minerals industry, promoting and enhancing sustainability, profitability and competitiveness.
He has held senior corporate and government roles focused on energy, resources, environmental, investment and public policy issues. These include advising the Federal Minister for Industry, Science and Innovation, and the Minister for the Environment, along with the Premier of Victoria and as Head of Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs, International Power Australia.
He started his professional career as a Diplomat with the Australian government and Trade and was posted to the Australian Embassy in Tehran, Iran.
He has a MBA from the University of Texas at Austin and Bachelor of Economics (with Honours) from Monash University, Melbourne.
